ACH & Wire Payments

Systems used to create, approve, screen, transmit, receive, and reconcile ACH and wire transfers.

Buying context

Why it matters

Payment instructions can move large amounts quickly and may be difficult to reverse. Strong entitlements, independent approval, sanctions screening, and complete audit evidence are central to safe operations.

Due diligence

Questions to ask

  1. Can the bank enforce separate initiation, approval, release, and template-maintenance roles?
  2. How are payment changes and out-of-band callbacks documented in the transaction record?
  3. At what points are names and instructions screened, and how are potential matches resolved?
  4. How does the system handle duplicate files, cutoff misses, reversals, recalls, and rejected transactions?
