Mobile Banking

Banking applications designed for customers to use on phones and tablets.

Buying context

Why it matters

Mobile access concentrates authentication, remote deposit, payments, alerts, and support in one channel. Release practices and device security matter because a defect can reach many customers at once.

Due diligence

Questions to ask

  1. Which mobile functions differ from online banking, and how are those differences communicated to customers?
  2. How long does the vendor support older operating-system versions after Apple or Google releases an update?
  3. What device, session, and transaction signals can feed the bank's fraud monitoring?
  4. How are mobile-deposit limits, duplicate detection, and exception review controlled?
